City Council's $1,600,000,000 Mismanagement
For over a decade, Pflugerville’s City Council has driven our community into a financial abyss, recklessly greenlighting $1.6 billion in new city spending, money that doesn’t even include our schools or fire department, just pure, extravagant city projects. This has left us drowning in billions of dollars in debt, a staggering $20,000+ per capita for our 65,176 residents. Compare that to Austin’s $7,959, or Round Rock’s $11,091 and it's plainly clear that Pflugerville’s debt burden is outrageously out of step with our neighbors. This is a looming threat to our families, our businesses, and the future we’re building for our kids. As a father of two young daughters, a financial consultant, and a long-time resident, I’m as shocked and frustrated as you are by this gross mismanagement. We’re staring down a crisis that could make it impossible for many of us to afford staying in the city we love.
My opponent is deeply entangled in the council’s inner circle, has been a cheerleader for this fiscal insanity, including the lavish potentially $250 million-plus City Hall project that’s less about serving our community and more about stroking egos. Their influence only promises more of the same: more debt, higher taxes, and a city careening to the edge of insolvency. We literally can’t afford to let this continue. My water bill is $300! I’m running because I believe in a Pflugerville where fiscal responsibility isn’t a buzzword but a commitment to protecting our wallets and our future. Like you, I’m tired of watching our hard-earned money squandered on projects that don’t reflect our values or needs. We deserve leaders who prioritize us, our homes, our businesses, our kids’ futures.
This November, we have a chance to take back our city. Below is a detailed list of the $1.6 billion in recent City Council votes tied to this reckless agenda. Join me, a concerned neighbor just like you, in sending a clear message: enough is enough. Let’s vote for accountability, for sanity, for a Pflugerville we can all afford to call home. Your support isn’t just a vote, it’s a stand for our community’s survival and a brighter, more responsible future.
